Engel's Nursery is a wholesale grower of deciduous and conifer tree and shrub seedlings and transplants. We are a family owned and operated business located in Southwest Lower Michigan. It began in 1992 on a 5 acre leased piece of land and the determination to deliver quality seedlings at reasonable prices. While the business began with a borrowed tractor and irrigation and lots of help from friends and family, it soon took on a life of its own. The next year our first piece of equipment was purchased with that first springs profits. It was a Ford 5000 tractor that is still used today. Since that time, Engel's Nursery has grown to Engel's Nursery Inc. and has acquired much along the way.

In 1994 the purchase of 55 acres of land started the nursery out on its own. 2 years later an adjoining 25 acre piece was purchased. This initial 80 acre piece makes up the main farming operation today. In addition to this main operation, 3 additional farms have been purchased in 2001, 2002 and recently in 2006. These new land aquisitions bring the total farming operation to 190 acres total. These land expansions over the years have allowed our nursery operation to grow and increase production grounds as well as include numerous seed orchards to insure a quality supply of seedlings in the future. In addition to land, numerous pieces of state-of-the-art equipment have been obtained to aid in the maintenance and harvesting of a quality crop.

While the company has grown as a whole, its focus is still much the same as when it began. We continue to specialize in bare root seedlings with a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and needs. This focus is important to us and keeps us working to improve in order to better serve you, our customers.
